Further education subscription

This information only applies to general further education and sixth form colleges in England.

The majority of our funding comes from the UK HE and FE funding bodies with a contribution via subscription from all higher education institutions and, in England only, from general FE and sixth form colleges.

Jisc subscription provides your college with full access to our catalogue of services for further education.

The Department for Education (DfE) continues to fund the significant proportion of the cost of Jisc’s critical shared services for the FE sector in England, including the Janet Network, cyber security and digital content. However, to retain membership of Jisc and to continue to use core Jisc services, general and sixth form colleges in England are required to pay a subscription.

Subscription costs

We will contact your college in the spring of each year to confirm the forthcoming year’s membership subscription, which is based on college network connectivity and total Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) income. We appreciate you need these costs to assist your budget planning and will aim to get them to you as soon as possible.

Invoicing

We will invoice colleges in England for their subscription fee in August of each year.
