About

The Association of Colleges (AoC) is the primary representative body for further education, sixth form, tertiary, and specialist colleges in England, founded in 1996 by colleges themselves. The AoC Annual Conference and exhibition, held in Birmingham is the must-attend further education event of the year. It offers educators a unique opportunity to learn, be challenged by inspiring keynotes and breakout sessions, and collaborate with peers to enhance their practices and drive change within their organisations. The programme boasts influential speakers from government, business, education, and various other sectors.

We are delighted to share that we will again this year be supporting the conference as Digital Partner and Beacon Awards sponsor.

Imagine the future of further education and skills

Join us on the Jisc stand to imagine the future of further education and skills and explore the potential of digital technologies to solve some of your current challenges and open up new opportunities for your college in the future.

We will be showcasing some of our latest innovations and technology which have the potential to push the boundaries of learning, solve connectivity challenges and enable more sustainable approaches.

Jisc’s national centre for AI in tertiary education will be demonstrating a variety of tools which could help reduce staff workload and enable them to better understand and meet the needs of a wider range of learners. These include Teachermatic, Anywyse and Bodyswaps as well as more general-purpose tools like ChatGPT, Bard, Bing Chat, and Gamma.

Immersive learning experts Metaverse Learning will again be joining us to demonstrate how virtual and augmented reality can transform learning and assessment. We will also be demonstrating holographic and touch-free technologies and exploring their potential for colleges.

We are developing new ways to address key sector connectivity challenges. You will be able to see one of the latest solutions, plug in and go 4G/5G devices small enough to fit into a ruck sack, enabling students and staff to connect to the eduroam network in previously hard to reach places. You’ll also be able to explore smart campus technology and the potential of IoT (Internet of Things devices and sensors to enhance building management for more sustainable, efficient and safe campuses.

Come along to our stand and share your thoughts on how these innovations align with your initiatives, where they could help address some of your current challenges and what some of the key opportunities are for the future.

Visitors to the stand will also be able to find out if they are eligible for a complimentary place at Digifest 2024 where we will be continuing the conversation and exploring how innovation can help you now and in the future.
